Monday::Musings|Pele’s Power
for those of you that don’t know, i live in beautiful Hawaii. i live on the northern most island, Kauai, but my post today focuses on the big island. the big island of Hawaii is home to an active volcano, Kilauea. Kilauea has been erupting lava since the 1980s, but in the last few months has gotten really active. I saw some footage yesterday of a new vent in the Halema`uma`u Crater, that was so beautiful, I just had to share. it’s a pretty amazing sight and even more amazing to realize that our Mother Earth is still hard at work creating new land.

new lava:: I love that fiery red/orange color against the cool dark gray rocks.

the steam is the lava hitting the cool ocean–creating new land

Orange Love

is it possible to eat too many oranges? I don’t know, but I’ll soon find out. I just found 19 pounds of oranges the other day. I’m not completely sure what I was thinking when I thought that my little family could eat 19 pounds of oranges. It must be my preggers cravings. It was on sale for like $0.75 a pound, when orange normally go for $1.20 a pound, this is a steal! My hands and fingernails will soon be permanently stained orange, I’m currently eating two at a time. yum! These taste the best ice cold from the fridge. Nothing better than a cold orange on a hot hawaiian afternoon.

Tuesday::Things I Love|Digi-Scrapping
It’s only fitting that I start off my first “Things I Love” post by sharing one of my current favorite digi scrapping kits. You see, digital scrapbooking was my first leap into using Photoshop and really all things design. I found digital scrapbooking in 2005. I found I had an automatic love for this art and jumped in. I had a small and very brief foray as a designer, but I quickly realized that it wasn’t for me. I still had that “longing” to design, which is why I turned to stationary and card design.
I have to start off by saying, I’m a little biased towards this kit because I’m a design team member for Kim. Kim is an amazingly talented designer and a real sweetheart. I love this kit because I have a little obsession with the color orange. This kit is so bright and fun and funky. Kim has lots of other great products in her shop CGEssentials. Check it out!
