If your household is anything like mine, you probably have tons of old t-shirts in your drawers and closets. Half of them, I can’t even remember how or where I got them from, the rest are those “freebie” promotional shirts that business like to pass out. As I’ve started to get my house cleaned and organized for our new little addition, I’ve come to the realization that between my husband and I, we have way too many unused t-shirts. I’d hate to throw them out and I know our local thrift stores are overloaded with t-shirts, so I googled “how to re-purpose old t-shirts” and I was amazed at all of the wonderful projects out there. There are a few of my favs.

I love pin-back buttons. I’ve been thinking about buying a button making machine and adding cute 1″ pin-back buttons to my product line. As I was searching through flickr looking at different pin-back buttons, I also fell in love with plastic vintage buttons. How can you not resist these beautiful and colorful buttons!

Sorry for such a long absence!  I’ve spent the week working on my blog and business plan (as well as resting with my feet up… just 3 more weeks until baby is considered “term” and no more bed-rest!!!) .   I have lots of card and stationery designs coming to my etsy shoppe.  I’ve finished my vintage botanicals line of cards and I have two more lines in the works.   I am also in the process of designing and creating an online store off of etsy! (I’m so excited about this one).

For my blog, I’ve decided to get myself a bit more organized in my posts.  Right now, I don’t know what I’m going to write about until I actually sit down to write.  I like my life to be a more organized and predictable than that, so I’ve decided to make my blog just as organized.  I want to make my blog interesting, but at the same time keep my thoughts in order and clear with a sense of purpose or a theme.   So, please, dear readers, check back in next week for a whole new Simply Embellish Blog.

I’m loving these gorgeous dangle earrings by LieblingArtCrafts, an Jewelry Artist over at etsy. I’m not much of a jewelry wearer these days, my 2 year old still reaches and tries to grab and rip off any necklace or earrings I wear. But, how can I pass up these beautiful earrings? I’m also loving the photography, especially the photos using the vases as props.

So, my shoppe update is taking a little longer than I had planned.  I wanted to take all of my product photos today, but of all days, today was cloudy, windy and rainy most of the day.  I did manage to list three new thank-you card sets. I’m hoping for better weather tomorrow… either that, or I need to make that light box I’ve had on my to-do list for ages.
