For my 2nd post supporting my state’s local artists and designers, I wanted to feature Lily Lotus. I found them via the Hapa|Hale blog and immediately feel in love with the soft colors and lovely prints. They have a boutique in Kaimuki on 1127 12th avenue. Next time I’m in Honolulu, I’m definitely going to check them out.

i sorta feel like i’ve been living under a rock. i happen to stumble upon etsy and discover a whole new world of indie/handmade/diy/crafted products out there. i also find wonderful and inspiring blogs dedicated to this little world. (ps i love google reader!) i also realized that I LOVE IT! it’s like all of a sudden a light bulb went off and i realize that this is neat and great and wonderful. i could not wait to jump in feet first. i want a blog showing things that i love and find great and wonderful. i also want to blog about my own adventures in selling on etsy and my own ventures into indie handmade diy crafts.

i love design, i love the vintage and bold and graphic look. i also love supporting local designers and artists. so naturally, i went searching on etsy for some local artists.

my first find is a rocking handbag designer denise tjarks. she sews and creates her handbags in kapaa, kauai, hawaii. her handbags are super cute made with awesome mod graphic prints. most are reversible into a tropical/hawaiian print. her handbags come in a variety of designs, ranging from sophisticated to modern to vintage. a great find, because a girl really can never have too many handbags!
here’s my personal fav.
until next time! a hui ho
