I just love browsing through the macro tag on flickr. Macro photos are photographs of objects taken really close. Macro photography allows you to take a detailed, extremely close-up photograph of anything.

Photo Update
I am not a very good photographer, in fact a lot of my photos come out blurry, but I promised I’d share some photos from the Relay for Life Walk last week Saturday and of our KoiNobori from Children’s day on Monday.

Here is a photo of the luminaries from the Ceremony of Hope. Each luminary represents a person who has battled cancer. Many of them commemorate the lives of those who have been lost to this disease.

The luminaries were placed in a double row all around the walking track. It was very touching to see just how many people have been affected by cancer. The light from the luminaries lit the track the whole night. My little guy and I did not stay for the whole event. There was no way that I could stay up that long, or make my little guy sleep there. My husband stayed to walk and ended up walking over 12 miles.

Here’s my little guy with our koinobori. We used white butcher paper to cut out a fish and stuffed it with newspaper. I tried to get him to color his fish, but my husband and I ended up finishing it for him.

We hung the fish outside on our flag pole. The fish stayed on the flag pole until it rained and blew away. You can see the dark rain clouds in the background….

Thursday::Photographer Find|FotoFiction
I found this photographer, Foto Fiction, while browsing the photography section at etsy. I was drawn to the contrast of colors and soft backgrounds.
“My work is deliciously imperfect. My store name Foto Fiction is meant to imply that I do not always attempt to capture the world exactly as others may see it. The beauty of fiction is the ability to take artistic license and create what defies conventional traditions.”
Foto Fiction::Seaside Sunlight
