Meet Anne Long, the face behind Simply Embellish
Anne’s career has been built around beauty, education and a genuine passion for helping people feel confident in themselves.
Her journey began in hair, beauty and wig making, working in luxury salons, spas and hotels across the UK. Alongside her work in the industry, Anne also taught and mentored students and professionals in colleges and private establishments, sharing her skills and knowledge with the next generation of beauty professionals.
In 2018, Anne expanded into permanent makeup, training with the highly regarded Finishing Touches Academy. Since then, she has continued to develop her skills across permanent makeup, advanced skincare, microneedling and aesthetic treatments, regularly investing in advanced training and professional development to stay at the forefront of new techniques, technology and treatment developments.
Her work has been recognised with multiple industry awards, including awards for her permanent makeup and advanced skincare treatments. But for Anne, staying at the top of her profession isn’t simply about collecting qualifications or awards. It’s about continually learning, maintaining high standards and helping raise standards within the permanent makeup and beauty industry as a whole.
Anne is also passionate about supporting others. Since 2018, she has volunteered with Macmillan and Look Good Feel Better, using her beauty skills to support people living with cancer.

One of my favourite parts of any permanent makeup appointment is choosing the pigment.
It`s never as simple as picking a colour from a chart.
I look at your skin tone.
Your natural colouring.
Your existing brow or lip colour.
Your lifestyle.
And, most importantly, the look you`re hoping to achieve.
The colour you see in the pot isn`t always the colour that heals in the skin, which is why experience matters.
Choosing the right pigment is part science, part artistry—and it`s one of the reasons no two clients ever leave with exactly the same result.

The mapping stage is one of the most important parts of the appointment.
I`m looking at your face shape.

One of the biggest misconceptions about permanent makeup is that it lasts forever.
In reality, that would be great although as our skin changes and we age we may need adjusting the colour, so maybe its great that it doesn’t last forever!
Your skin is constantly renewing itself, and over time the pigment naturally softens and fades. Lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products and your individual skin all play a part.
That`s why colour boost appointments are so important. They`re not about starting again. They`re about refreshing your existing brows, lips or eyeliner so they continue to look soft, natural and beautifully defined.

Today`s Little Win 💜
One of the best parts of my job isn`t actually performing the treatment.
It`s hearing how my clients feel afterwards.
Today, a lovely client shared how thrilled she is with her healed lip blush results. She was telling me that friends and family have been commenting on how well she looks
They`ve said things like:
✨ "You look really well."
✨ "You look great."
✨ "There`s something different about you."
But they haven`t quite been able to put their finger on what it is.
And that`s exactly what she wanted to achieve.

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny sterile needles.
As each fine-needles punches the skin, it creates a channel or micro wound. the controlled injury triggers the body to fill the micro wounds by producing new collagen elastin in the papillary dermis. in addition, new capillaries are formed.
